3. Feynman Explanation
Miranda was Via’s best friend when they were younger. She loved Auggie and gave him the astronaut helmet. At camp, she tells lies: she says her parents are rich and that she has a brother with a deformed face (Auggie). The lies make her popular for a while, but she loses her real friend Via. Later she helps Via get the lead role in the play. She shows that pretending to be someone else can make you lose who you really are and the people who love the real you.

5. Story Summary (Spoiler-Safe)
Miranda tells her story. She used to be very close to Via and Auggie. At summer camp she changes her look and tells lies to become popular. She says she has a deformed brother. When she comes back, she is distant from Via. But on the night of the school play, Miranda gets sick and lets Via take the lead role. She watches from the side and sees Auggie in the audience. At the end she hugs Auggie and cries. She still loves him like a little brother.
6. Why It Matters
Miranda’s chapter teaches that changing yourself to fit in can cost you real friendship. The lies she told about Auggie were hurtful even if she didn’t mean them that way. In the end, she returns to kindness. The book shows that the people who truly know you (like Auggie) can still love you even when you make mistakes.

English audio summary idea: “Miranda used to be Via’s best friend. At camp she told lies to be popular, even lies about Auggie. She hurt her real friend. Later she gave Via the lead role in the play and saw how much Auggie had grown. She realized she still loved him.”
