An ebook is not a paper page reduced to a smaller screen.

What You Will Produce

• Objective: Specify an EPUB with semantic structure, navigation, meaningful alt text, and selectable text.
• Action: Find page references, tab-based layouts, empty alt text, and body text embedded in images, then assign correction owners.
• Evidence: A production record with EPUB filename, build time, hash, and owners for structural defects.

Reflow Is the Default Reading Model

Use real headings, lists, paragraphs, and reading order instead of positioning text to imitate a printed page. The book must remain intelligible when screen size, font size, theme, or orientation changes.

Navigation and Images Carry Meaning

Provide navigation that reflects the book structure. Keep images inline where they belong, add useful alternative text, and avoid turning essential body text into an image.

Practice: Find Structural Defects

Inspect the sample EPUB plan for fixed-page assumptions and accessibility gaps. Record each issue, its impact, and the person who owns the correction before a new build is accepted.
